Home of the lucky cats (maneki neko)

Tokoname is also known as one of the largest lucky cat producing areas in Japan.

Maneki Neko (lucky cat in Japanese) is a lucky charm that is displayed by  businesses and thousands of people worldwide, and can often be found at the entrance of shops in Japan.

There are more than 50 different types of lucky cats, from large to small, in Tokoname City.

In particular, the giant guardian cat named "Toko-nyan" with a width of 6.3m and a height of 3.8m is a symbol of the Tokoname Pottery Footpath. Below that, 39 cat objects are displayed on the wall.
