Atami Fireworks Festival: a powerful experience
Colourful fireworks
About the Atami Fireworks Festival
The Atami Fireworks Festival is a historic fireworks festival that began in 1952. It's held more than 10 times throughout the year . The venue, Atami Bay, has a mortar-shaped terrain surrounded by mountains on three sides.
The sound of the fireworks above the sea echoes, resulting in a large stadium-like sound effect. It's also said to be one of the best fireworks festival venues in Japan, highly acclaimed by fireworks companies. As the fireworks spread in the night sky, they reflect on the water. The iconic finale, "Aerial Nagara", is so impressive it can give you chills.
