Breathtaking Natural Phenomenon - 📍Naruto whirlpools , Tokushima
Naruto Whirlpools are a natural phenomenon that occur in the Naruto Strait between Naruto City, Tokushima Prefecture and Minamiawaji City, Hyogo Prefecture.
The whirlpools of the Naruto Strait are known as the "three major tides in the world" along with the Strait of Messina in Italy and the Strait of Seymour in Canada. The size of Naruto Whirlpools is about 20 meters in diameter; the largest in the world.
Naruto Whirlpools become their maximum size during spring tides in spring and autumn. In particular, the autumn season is called the whirlpool season, and is known as the "Autumn Whirlpool". We recommend you visit the area in this season because there is a high probability that a powerful whirlpool can be seen on the day of "spring tide". It has the largest tidal range.
There are two recommended ways to see Naruto Whirlpools.
1. The "Uzu no Michi" marine promenade built under the road of "Onaruto Bridge" over the Naruto Strait. The whirlpools overlooking from a height of 45 meters above the sea are thrilling.
2. "Whirlpools Cruise". You can see it up close because it passes right next to the vortex, which is far more powerful than you can see in the photo.
