Inazumi Underwater Cave
Inazumi Underwater Cave is a limestone cave located in Bungo-ono City, Oita Prefecture.
The underwater limestone cave is rare in the world. The cave was formed about 300 million years ago. It's estimated that it was submerged by the eruption of Mt. Aso 300,000 years ago and has become what it is today. The total length of the discovered part is more than 1km, and it's the largest underwater limestone cave in Japan. There is still an unknown area and the search is continuing.
It's lit up by LEDs in some places and has a mysterious atmosphere. Especially the one illuminated by blue is a photogenic beauty.
In addition, the temperature inside the cave is 16 degrees Celsius all year round, therefore the summers are cool and the winters are warm, so you can see the wonderful underwater limestone cave all year round.
